My UX Journey

Four years uncovering my calling. I started college as a Marine Biology major at UH Manoa but discovered research wasn’t for me. I spent the next two years discovering my passion for helping others, problem-solving, and creativity.

Next, I tried out the Architecture program at Kennesaw State University (KSU). I knew I loved technology which lead me across the Interaction Design program offered at KSU. I read one description of the major and knew that was the right place to apply my three passions. I’m a graduate of Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor of Science in Interactive Design.

I had an opportunity to work with Edgar Allan on a small project for Cumberland Sales Company. I completed Low-fidelity and High-fidelity wireframes for a new webpage to improve their customer and company representative’s order experience. I got to collaborate with a set of designers to create the wireframes in Figma. The project was launched into the design phase.

Throughout my education, I’ve used tools like Miro, Figma, Usertesting.com, Adobe suite, etc. Due to COVID-19, I’ve adapted to a virtual workspace and working remotely. I’m verse in my virtual communication skills using tools like Microsoft Teams and Discord. I’ve created app-based prototypes with user-centered design methods like GDD which focuses on the User’s Goal to get the result and the Sprint method which focuses on the best solution. I’ve taken Front-end Development I & II to gain some HTML/CSS & Javascript programming skills to create webpages. I’ve taken a usability class where I learned different user testing methods and launched the tests on Usertesting.com.

These days, I’m a Multimedia Designer working with different publishing clients to enhance their user engagement and user experience. In my role I work with clients on their presentations, websites, and social media graphics.
